Flu clinics update (08.09.21)

You will probably have seen information in the media saying that there will be a delay to this year's flu clinics across the country. Like other Practices, we received an email on Friday 3rd September from the company who provide our flu vaccines stating that due to ‘unforeseen road freight challenges’ there could be a one-to-two-week delay to when our flu vaccines are delivered. Given that we do not yet know when our delivery will arrive and there is still a chance, we may receive it in time for the first clinic on Saturday 2nd October 9am to 3pm .

We have decided not to re-schedule just yet as we want you have access to your flu vaccine as soon as possible, however, we will not invite you until we have heard our confirmed delivery date from the supplier.

We know this is disappointing news and we still have our fingers crossed that the delivery will get to us on time. We will keep updating the news section on our website so please make sure you check here regularly and if you have not given us your mobile phone number or consented to us contacting you by text please do so – it helps us get information to you as quickly as possible. Please do not contact us to ask if the clinics have been rescheduled – we will send texts and letters once we know. Thank you.

From 26 July 2021  there will be routine (non-urgent) pre-bookable telephone appointments available to book online or via reception each afternoon.

From 19th July, nothing will change at the surgery.  Patients will still need to wear a mask, socially distance and use hand sanitiser whilst in the surgery.  Staff will continue to wear PPE.   Thank you for your co-operation.

Please if possible order your prescriptions online or call the surgery between 10.30am and 1pm only.

If you needing a non urgent call back from a clinician then please only call between 8.30am and 10.30am Monday - Friday or 1pm - 3pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday.

Coronavirus notice:

Please see our Special Privacy Notice and COVID-19 Privacy Notice with regards to your data processing during these unprecedented times.

Due to advice given by the BMA regarding the recent Coronavirus outbreak, we have temporarily had to stop our Drop-in facility, our early morning and late appointment 'extended hours' and also all future bookable online appointments.  This is for the health and safety of EVERYONE.  We apologise for this inconvenience and hope that normal service will resume in the near future.

Watch out in both surgeries for our campaign to get patients registered for online services.

Helping Sheffield City Council identify patients who may need additional support during COVID-19, Coronavirus.

Sheffield City Council & Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (the NHS) are compiling a list of people who may need some extra support during the COVID19 crisis.

This is not the group of people who have already been identified as being extremely vulnerable if they were to get COVID19, but the group of patients who are at “moderate risk”.

To help them build the list they have asked us to provide details of all patients registered with us who would normally be offered a Flu vaccine each winter.  If you would normally be offered a flu vaccine it is usually because of a medical condition that also puts you in this “moderate risk” group.

We do not ordinarily share any of your information with other agencies except where it is being used for your direct care.  As such this is an unusual request.  During the coronavirus crisis however there is a legal requirement for us to share the following information from your medical records, if you are entitled to a Flu vaccine:

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Home address
  • Home, Work and Mobile telephone numbers
  • The medical fact that you are entitled to a Flu Vaccine (even if you have never had one) but not the reason why you are entitled to it.

We believe it may assist the council and the NHS in organising support for you at this exceptional time. We have also been advised that we are obliged to release this information.

Sheffield City Council will process your data as outlined on their Privacy Notice.

Because of the time-frame concerned we have released this information to Sheffield CCG at 20:00 hrs on 22nd April 2020. It is your data and you have the right to request that it is deleted if you do not want them to process it. Please contact them directly:
